The Red Line runs north to south, connecting Hamad International Airport to Lusail; the Green Line runs east to west; and the Gold Line connects the eastern and western parts of the city.

Trains are clean, efficient, and feature separate cabins for families and Gold Class passengers. The metro is an affordable and convenient way to navigate Doha, with day passes available for tourists.

Taxis and Ride-Sharing

Taxis and Ride-Sharing

Taxis are widely available, and ride-sharing apps like Uber and Careem operate throughout Qatar. Official taxis in Qatar are turquoise in color and operate with meters.

Ride-sharing services like Uber and Careem offer convenient alternatives, allowing users to book rides through mobile apps with upfront pricing.

Taxis can be hailed on the street, found at designated taxi stands, or booked through phone services. Most drivers speak English, and credit cards are accepted in many taxis and all ride-sharing services.

Renting a car gives you flexibility to explore at your own pace. International driving permits are accepted. Qatar has an excellent road network, making self-driving a viable option for visitors.

Major international car rental companies operate in Qatar, with pickup locations at Hamad International Airport and various hotels. Both economy and luxury vehicles are available.

To rent a car, you'll need a valid driver's license from your home country, an International Driving Permit (for non-Arabic or English licenses), and a credit card. Driving is on the right side of the road.
